General FAQs
What is PropertyAuctions.io?
PropertyAuctions.io is a property listing platform that aggregates auction properties from multiple trusted UK auctioneers. We help buyers discover residential, commercial and land properties listed for auction in one place.
Do you conduct property auctions?
No. We are not an auction house. We list properties being auctioned by third-party auctioneers and redirect you to their official platforms for bidding or purchase.
How often are properties updated?
Our property listings are updated daily to ensure you have access to the latest auction properties, dates and guide prices from all over the UK.
How do I bid on a property?
Once you find a property you are interested in, click “Details” to view more info. You will be redirected to the original auctioneer’s site where you can register, review legal packs and place bids according to their process.
Can I filter properties by location or type?
Yes. You can search and filter by:
- Region (e.g., London, Wales, Manchester)
- Property type (residential, commercial, land, ground rent, etc.)
- Guide price

Frequently Raised Legal Questions
Are property listings “personal data” under UK GDPR?
No - in most cases they are not.
Under UK GDPR Article 4(1), personal data must relate to an identifiable natural person.
Information such as:
- property address,
- guide price or sale price,
- auction date,
- number of bedrooms,
- tenure or size,
constitutes factual property information, not personal data, unless it directly identifies an individual (e.g. a name or contact details).
The ICO confirms that information about a property is not automatically personal data simply because someone owns it.
Does GDPR give a right to remove factual property information (“right to be forgotten”)?
No.
The right to erasure (Article 17 UK GDPR) applies only to personal data.
Where a listing contains non-personal, factual property information, Article 17 does not apply.
Even where personal data is involved, the right to erasure is not absolute and does not override:
- lawful processing,
- legitimate interests,
- or the maintenance of accurate historical records
What is your lawful basis for processing this information?
Our lawful basis is legitimate interests (Article 6(1)(f) UK GDPR).
Our purpose is to:
- maintain a transparent and accurate archive of UK property auction data,
- support public understanding of historical pricing and auction outcomes,
- aggregate information already made public by auctioneers and official records.
This purpose is compatible with the original public marketing of the property (Article 5(1)(b)).
Does withdrawing a property from sale require removal of historical listings?
No.
The subsequent withdrawal, sale, or removal of information by an auctioneer does not:
- create confidentiality retrospectively,
- invalidate the lawfulness of prior public disclosure,
- or require third-party platforms to erase factual historical records.
Historical accuracy is preserved even if a property is later withdrawn
Do you infringe copyright or database rights?
No.
Under UK copyright law:
- facts are not protected works,
- property attributes, prices and dates are not copyrightable,
- we do not reproduce marketing descriptions, brochures or creative content.
We display only factual data with attribution and links to original sources
Can images be removed?
Possibly — subject to verification.
Where a requester demonstrates a legitimate legal interest in a property, we may consider removing links to images, where appropriate.
However:
- we do not remove factual property information,
- ownership must be verified before any review takes place.
What proof is required to review a removal request?
To prevent misuse of our takedown process, we require evidence of legal interest, such as:
• a Title Register in your name, or
• a fully executed Transfer Deed.
Auction bids, unsigned drafts, or documents showing intent to complete do not constitute proof of ownership.
Are you responsible for selling or managing the property?
No.
We are not the seller, agent, or auctioneer.
For enquiries relating to sales, viewings or transactions, please contact the auctioneer listed on the property page.
